About the Role

As a Long-Term Substitute teaching Entrepreneurship (Business/Tech), you will step in to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a district-wide capacity. This is a temporary placement with a minimum commitment of 10 consecutive school days, reporting directly to the Building Principal or designee. The role is classified under Human Resources and may be designated as exempt or non-exempt depending on the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons in entrepreneurship, business, and technology that keep students learning during the assigned period.
  • Maintain established classroom routines, curriculum pacing, and learning objectives set by the regular classroom teacher.
  • Foster a respectful, well-managed, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on coursework and projects.
  • Coordinate with the Building Principal, designees, and school staff to support a smooth instructional handoff.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate Illinois teaching licensure or substitute credentials qualifying you to instruct in a secondary classroom.
  • Background or coursework in entrepreneurship, business, or technology education is strongly preferred.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the flexibility to adapt to an established curriculum.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 consecutive instructional days at the assigned building.
  • Reliable, professional, and able to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.

Compensation

This position offers a daily pay rate of $255.00 for teaching assignments and $150.00 for teaching assistant assignments. As a temporary substitute role, benefits do not apply.
