Legal Assistant – Litigation – Creditors’ Rights/Bankruptcy

Join Gust Rosenfeld's litigation team as a Legal Assistant supporting creditors' rights and bankruptcy practice in Phoenix, Maricopa County. In this full-time position, you'll be the backbone of case management, keeping complex litigation organized and on track while collaborating with attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.

About the Role

As a litigation legal assistant focused on creditors' rights and bankruptcy, you'll manage the operational and administrative details that drive successful case outcomes. You'll work across debt collection actions, bankruptcy filings, and related litigation matters, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Your work directly supports our general counsel and litigation team.

What You'll Do

• Organize and maintain case files, pleadings, discovery materials, and supporting documentation for accuracy and accessibility
• Track court deadlines, filing requirements, and hearing dates; maintain docket calendars and send timely reminders to attorneys
• Prepare court filings, motions, pleadings, and related legal documents for submission in bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters
• Manage correspondence with clients, courts, court trustees, and opposing counsel; maintain clear communication logs
• Assist in organizing and summarizing discovery materials for litigation preparation
• Provide administrative support to general counsel and litigation staff, including scheduling, research requests, and document management
• Support billing and time-tracking processes; maintain accurate records for litigation matters
• Handle phones and client inquiries; route matters appropriately within the office

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or higher education qualification
• Prior legal assistant, paralegal, or law office experience strongly preferred
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency with legal software, case management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Detail-oriented mindset with accuracy in document preparation and filing
• Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Familiarity with bankruptcy procedures, federal or state court processes, or creditors' rights litigation a plus
