This full-time clinical lab science position offers an opportunity to deliver precise, high-quality testing that directly impacts patient diagnosis and care in our Grand Haven, Michigan facility.
About the Role
We're seeking a qualified Clinical Lab Scientist to perform complex laboratory diagnostics and support our healthcare team's clinical decision-making. As our Lab Specialist, you'll operate advanced laboratory instrumentation, analyze patient specimens, and ensure every result meets our rigorous quality standards. This full-time role operates a 5×8 day shift schedule and includes a travel assignment component; your primary residence must be located at least 50 miles from our facility address.
What You'll Do
- Perform high-complexity clinical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot clinical laboratory instrumentation and automated systems
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CLIA regulations
- Manage specimen handling, documentation, and quality assurance protocols
- Communicate testing results and clinical findings with nurses, physicians, and healthcare providers
- Maintain laboratory safety standards and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Current Michigan Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
- Additional specialty certifications relevant to your laboratory discipline
- Proven ability to perform accurate, detail-oriented work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong collaborative skills and commitment to patient safety
