Investment Banking Vice President

Selby Jennings is recruiting an Investment Banking Vice President for a premier middle-market investment bank headquartered in Boston, Suffolk County, MA — a firm recognized for delivering high-caliber M&A, capital markets, and financial advisory solutions across a broad range of industries.

About the Role

This full-time Vice President opportunity sits at the center of the firm's deal activity. As a generalist Investment Banking VP in Boston, you will own transaction execution from mandate through close, mentor junior professionals, and serve as a trusted day-to-day contact for clients navigating complex financial decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment and is ready to step into a leadership role on live engagements.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital-raising transactions across multiple industry verticals
• Build, review, and stress-test sophisticated financial models, including DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution, and comparable company analyses
• Structure and oversee due diligence processes, coordinating with legal, accounting, and other advisory teams
• Draft and refine client-facing materials including pitch books, information memoranda, and management presentations
• Manage relationships with corporate clients, private equity sponsors, and other counterparties throughout the deal lifecycle
• Support senior bankers in business development efforts and new-mandate pitches
• Mentor and develop analysts and associates, providing quality control on their work product

What We're Looking For

• Meaningful investment banking experience at the associate or VP level, with a track record of closed M&A or capital markets transactions
• Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and transaction structuring
• Ability to manage multiple live deals simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present to C-suite executives and board-level stakeholders
• Generalist sector background with the versatility to work across industries
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA designation a plus
• FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses preferred
