Position Summary

The International Tax Manager position is a key role within the Finance team at A&O Shearman's Belfast office. This role will be part of the Partners’ Affairs and Tax (“PAT”) Team, supporting the Head of International Tax in managing the global tax affairs of the firm. Responsibilities include tax compliance, advisory services, and risk management.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of international tax returns for A&O Shearman’s clients and operations.
• Provide tax advice to partners and clients on complex tax issues, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate tax risks for the firm.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of tax considerations in business operations.

Qualifications

• A degree in Taxation or a related field, with a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CTA.
• At least 7 years of experience in international tax management, preferably within a law firm setting.
• Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations, including familiarity with double taxation treaties.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with partners, clients, and colleagues.
