Instrument and Control (Automation-PlantPAx) Commissioning Supervisor

Wood Group is hiring an experienced Instrument and Control (Automation-PlantPAx) Commissioning Supervisor to join its Operations business in Addicks, Houston. About the Role

As the Instrument and Control (Automation-PlantPAx) Commissioning Supervisor, you will serve as the working-level lead for instrumentation, controls, and automation commissioning and maintenance activities. Based onsite in the United States at Wood Group's Addicks, Houston operation, you will oversee day-to-day commissioning execution and ensure systems are brought online safely, reliably, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the commissioning and maintenance of instrumentation, control, and automation systems, including PlantPAx process automation platforms.
• Coordinate and direct field commissioning teams to deliver scopes safely and on schedule.
• Verify that instrument and control equipment is installed, calibrated, and functioning to project requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve I&C and automation issues encountered during commissioning and start-up.
• Support handover of commissioned systems to operations, maintaining clear documentation throughout.
• Champion health, safety, and quality standards across all onsite activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in instrumentation and controls commissioning, ideally in a supervisory or working-lead capacity.
• Hands-on knowledge of automation systems, including Rockwell PlantPAx process control architecture.
• Strong understanding of field instrumentation calibration, loop checks, and control system maintenance.
• Ability to work onsite in Addicks, Houston and lead teams in an operational environment.
• Effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills with a safety-first mindset.
