Senior Test Engineer (m/w/d)

Falk Defence GmbH is seeking a results-driven Senior Test Engineer (m/w/d) in Leipzig to lead the verification of next-generation missile, guided-weapon, and launch systems. About the Role

As Senior Test Engineer at Falk Defence GmbH in Leipzig, you own the testing of our flight and launch systems from individual components through to fully integrated systems. You will design test campaigns, build test benches, and push our hardware to its limits under realistic conditions so that it consistently delivers the performance, robustness, and reliability demanded in operational use.

Key Responsibilities

• Create test plans and detailed test procedures at component, subsystem, and full-system level.
• Design, assemble, and commission test rigs and measurement systems.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate development, qualification, and acceptance tests.
• Coordinate testing activities with external facilities and flight-test ranges.
• Maintain complete, auditable test documentation with end-to-end traceability.
• Support flight-test campaigns and carry out structured fault and root-cause investigations.

Qualifications

• A completed degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable discipline.
• A strong hands-on attitude paired with a methodical, safety-conscious way of working.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including multi-week assignments at test ranges.
• Experience with missile, rocket, or aviation systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with flight-test ranges and their requirements is a plus.
• Exposure to pyrotechnic systems and rocket motors, plus the certification to handle explosives, is beneficial.
• Knowledge of measurement technology, data acquisition, and data analysis is welcome.
• Awareness of military test and qualification standards (e.g. MIL-STD, AECTP, STANAG) is advantageous.
• Very good German (C1 minimum) and solid English skills.
• Citizenship of an EU or NATO member state (excluding the USA) and readiness to undergo a security clearance in line with SÜG.
