Hospice Registered Nurse Triage – Part-Time

Elara Caring is hiring a part-time Hospice Registered Nurse Triage professional to support patients and families across Kansas City, Jackson County. This remote-friendly triage role lets experienced RNs deliver compassionate, responsive care while helping shape the future of home-based hospice services.

About the Role

As a Hospice Registered Nurse Triage clinician with Elara Caring, you will serve as a vital first point of clinical contact for hospice patients and their loved ones. Working in a part-time capacity with remote flexibility, you will assess needs, prioritize concerns, and guide care decisions that uphold our promise of the Right Care, at the Right Time, in the Right Place.

Key Responsibilities

• Field and assess incoming patient and caregiver calls, triaging symptoms and clinical concerns with sound nursing judgment.
• Prioritize urgent situations and coordinate timely, appropriate responses across the hospice care team.
• Provide clear guidance, education, and reassurance to patients and families during sensitive end-of-life moments.
• Document assessments and interventions accurately to ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues to advance Elara Caring's mission every day.

Qualifications

• Active Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Hospice, home health, or relevant clinical nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong triage, critical-thinking, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent telephone communication and a calm, empathetic manner with patients and families.
• Comfort working independently in a remote, part-time setting.
