Heavy Truck Shop Supervisor, Evening Shift

WM is hiring a full-time Heavy Truck Shop Supervisor for the Evening Shift at its Lemoore, Kings County facility, with regular on-site coverage across three Central Valley locations.

About the Role

In this leadership position, you will direct evening-shift maintenance operations spanning WM's McFarland, Fresno, and Visalia sites. You'll be the primary point of accountability for technician performance, fleet readiness, and shift-level reporting — keeping heavy trucks running safely and on schedule. Weekly travel between all three locations is a standard part of this job, so strong organizational discipline and time management are essential from day one.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of diesel and heavy-equipment technicians throughout the evening shift
• Assign and prioritize work orders to meet preventive maintenance schedules and minimize fleet downtime
• Conduct quality-control inspections on completed repairs and PM services
• Ensure all required shift reports and maintenance documentation are accurate and submitted on time
• Travel weekly among the McFarland, Fresno, and Visalia locations to provide hands-on oversight
• Enforce safety protocols, DOT compliance requirements, and WM standard operating procedures
• Coordinate parts availability with the supply chain to support uninterrupted shift operations
• Identify training needs and support the professional growth of shop technicians
• Serve as the evening-shift liaison between frontline technicians and facility management

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated supervisory experience in a heavy truck, fleet maintenance, or diesel shop environment
• Solid working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs for Class 6–8 commercial vehicles
• Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations as they apply to commercial fleet operations
• Proven ability to manage time and priorities across multiple locations simultaneously
• Strong coaching and interpersonal skills — able to motivate a team during non-traditional hours
• Proficiency completing maintenance records, shift logs, and standard operational reports
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required for inter-site travel
• Comfort working evenings and adapting to the operational demands of a multi-site role
