Health Educator (Masters), Population Health

University at Buffalo Portal seeks a full-time Health Educator with a Master's degree to join the Division of Population Health in Buffalo, Erie County. You will deliver protocol-driven health education interventions to study participants through face-to-face, telephone, and videoconferencing formats, supporting the mission of the Department of Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

About the Role

The Division of Population Health is recruiting a Health Educator to implement evidence-based health education interventions with study populations. In this full-time position, you will engage directly with participants, selecting and adapting delivery methods—in-person, phone, or video—while maintaining fidelity to established clinical protocols.

What You'll Do

• Conduct health education sessions with study participants using face-to-face, telephone, and videoconferencing modalities
• Implement health education interventions according to established protocols and research guidelines
• Assess participant comprehension and readiness for health behavior change
• Document education delivery and participant outcomes accurately and confidentially
• Collaborate with the Division of Population Health team to support research initiatives
• Provide culturally responsive health education to diverse study populations

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Health Education, Public Health, or a related discipline
• Professional experience delivering health education in a clinical, academic, or research environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with videoconferencing platforms and virtual communication tools
• Knowledge of evidence-based health behavior change strategies
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a culturally competent manner
