Head Coach E-Sports

Rock Island/Milan School District #41 is seeking a Head Coach for E-Sports at our Rock Island location. This full-time coaching position offers the opportunity to build and lead a competitive esports program for our student-athletes.

Position Summary

As Head Coach of E-Sports, you'll develop a thriving competitive gaming program that teaches strategy, teamwork, and excellence. You'll mentor high school esports athletes through training, competition, and leadership development while maintaining the academic and behavioral standards expected of student-athletes in our district.

Your Responsibilities

• Recruit and select team members through tryouts and skill assessments
• Plan and conduct regular practices, focusing on game strategy, communication, and team dynamics
• Prepare athletes for regional and state competitions
• Travel with the team to tournaments and match events
• Maintain equipment and manage team resources responsibly
• Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and eligibility status
• Enforce district policies, code of conduct, and sportsmanship standards
• Coordinate with school administration and support athletic department initiatives
• Stay current with competitive esports titles, formats, and rule changes

Who We're Looking For

• Coaching experience in esports, competitive gaming, or athletics
• Deep knowledge of major esports games and competitive ecosystems
• Strong leadership and motivational abilities with young people
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to student safety, integrity, and academic achievement
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for practices and competitions
• Bachelor's degree in education, sports management, or related field preferred
