Graduate Student Employee Biweekly – Academic Mentor

Baylor University is hiring a Graduate Student Employee Biweekly - Academic Mentor through its Center for Academic Success and Engagement, an on-site opportunity based in Robinson, McLennan County, for graduate students who want to support undergraduate success while advancing their own academic careers.

About the Role

As an Academic Mentor at Baylor University, you will partner with students to strengthen their study habits, build confidence, and stay on track toward their goals. This is a part-time, biweekly graduate student position scheduled for up to 20 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with a target start in Spring/Summer 2026 and the potential to continue on an ongoing basis. The role is paid at $15.00 per hour and is performed in person rather than remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach undergraduate students to help them develop effective learning and time-management strategies.
• Guide students toward campus resources that support academic engagement and persistence.
• Encourage goal-setting, accountability, and self-directed learning during one-on-one and group interactions.
• Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and student progress as directed by the department.
• Collaborate with the Center for Academic Success and Engagement team to deliver a consistent, supportive student experience.

• Current enrollment as a graduate student at Baylor University.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine interest in helping others learn.
• Dependability and the ability to keep a consistent weekday schedule within standard business hours.
