Girls Tennis Coach – JV

Join Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District as a Girls Tennis Coach for the Junior Varsity program at Cleveland Heights High School. This full-time supplemental coaching position, available starting August 2026, offers the opportunity to build and lead an competitive JV tennis program while developing student-athlete talent in the Cleveland Heights area of Cuyahoga County.

About the Role

The Girls JV Tennis Coach directs the junior varsity tennis program with a focus on skill development, competitive advancement, and creating a supportive team culture. You'll work with secondary-level student-athletes, teaching fundamental and advanced tennis techniques while preparing players for potential advancement to varsity competition.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver comprehensive practice sessions and training programs that build technical proficiency and competitive fitness
• Coach matches and individual competitions throughout the season, utilizing effective game strategy and player positioning
• Mentor student-athletes on sportsmanship, discipline, resilience, and team values both during competition and practice
• Ensure full compliance with OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) rules and Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District athletic policies
• Monitor student-athlete safety, wellness, and academic progress as part of the district's athletics mission
• Coordinate with varsity coaching staff to create clear pathways for player development and advancement

What We're Looking For

• Documented coaching experience at the high school level or substantial experience in competitive tennis instruction
• Completion of all OHSAA and Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District coaching certifications and requirements
• College or high school tennis playing experience demonstrating deep sport knowledge
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse student-athletes
• Understanding of modern tennis training methodologies and competition standards
• Dedication to building an inclusive, positive program culture
