About the Role
As a Family Law Associate Attorney at Gpac, you'll work directly on client matters, managing a substantive caseload while building the skills and relationships that define a rewarding family law career. You'll take on real responsibility, contributing meaningfully to both client outcomes and the firm's growth in the Los Angeles area.
What You'll Do
- Represent clients in family law proceedings, including divorce, custody arrangements, child support, spousal support, and property division disputes
- Conduct client consultations to assess legal needs and advise on case strategy and available options
- Draft legal motions, petitions, settlement agreements, and court filings
- Perform legal research to develop case theories and support litigation strategy
- Negotiate with opposing counsel and participate in mediation and alternative dispute resolution
- Represent clients during court appearances and hearings
- Manage discovery, prepare evidence, and prepare cases for trial
- Maintain organized case files and meet deadlines consistently
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor degree and active California State Bar membership
- Minimum two years of family law experience
- Strong legal writing and communication skills
- Solid understanding of family law substantive law and Los Angeles County court procedures
- Ability to manage multiple matters and prioritize effectively
- Commitment to excellent client service and professional integrity
- Attention to detail and sound legal judgment
