About the Role
As a member of the school leadership team, you'll play a central role in shaping the daily experience and culture of Hinsdale Elementary School. This position focuses on student attendance, behavioral support, and disciplinary practices through a preventive, restorative approach. You'll implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports for Behavior (MTSS-B) that prioritizes intervention and rehabilitation alongside accountability, ensuring every student receives the guidance and resources needed to succeed.
What You'll Do
- Partner with teachers, families, and support staff to develop and implement comprehensive behavioral intervention strategies
- Manage student attendance and discipline processes while maintaining a focus on student growth and positive behavioral change
- Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of MTSS-B initiatives that support academic and social-emotional development
- Respond to student and family needs with empathy and expertise, providing rehabilitative services alongside accountability measures
- Coordinate with school counselors, special educators, and community partners to address barriers to learning
- Maintain detailed records and communicate regularly with families about student progress and behavioral goals
- Contribute to school safety planning and emergency preparedness efforts
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, Counseling, or related field
- Current administrative certification or eligibility for certification in your state
- Demonstrated experience in student discipline, behavioral intervention, or school counseling
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices and restorative discipline approaches
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly to complex situations
- Commitment to equity and supporting the whole child
