About This Position
Nylag is seeking a Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Undergraduate Intern for the Estate Planning Project. As an intern at NYLAG, you will contribute to our mission of advocating for adults, children, and families experiencing poverty or low income by addressing their legal challenges and systemic barriers.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assist with research on estate planning matters relevant to low-income clients
- Support the preparation of legal documents and client communications
- Conduct legal research under supervision
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Assist with data entry and record-keeping for estate planning cases
Requirements
- Current undergraduate student with a strong interest in law and social justice
- Prior experience or coursework in legal research, writing, or related fields is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to public service and a passion for helping low-income communities
