What This Role Involves
The Events Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and executing a variety of events that support Sotheby’s business objectives. This includes but is not limited to coordinating with internal teams and external vendors, managing event logistics, ensuring all necessary permits are obtained, and overseeing the setup and breakdown of events.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and manage a wide range of events including auctions, private sales, and corporate functions.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless event execution, from planning to post-event follow-up.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure all external partners deliver high-quality services on time and within budget.
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring they meet Sotheby’s standards for quality and professionalism.
- Obtain necessary permits and clearances for event locations as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in event coordination or a related field.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Familiarity with event planning software and tools.
- Prior experience working in the art or luxury goods industry is a plus.
