Bank of America is seeking an Equity Research Analyst/Associate to join our Transportation & Shipping research team in Grand Central, Manhattan. This full-time position offers the opportunity to conduct deep fundamental analysis on leading transportation and logistics companies across the sector.

The Opportunity

As an Equity Research Analyst/Associate focused on Transportation & Shipping, you'll become a trusted market expert for our institutional clients. You'll develop original investment theses on major carriers, freight operators, port operators, and logistics providers by combining rigorous financial modeling with an understanding of industry dynamics, regulatory trends, and competitive positioning. Your research will directly inform portfolio decisions for some of the world's largest asset managers, pension funds, and hedge funds.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive equity research on transportation and shipping companies, including airlines, maritime shipping, rail, trucking, and integrated logistics providers
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to forecast revenue, earnings, and cash flow for transportation industry participants
  • Author published research reports communicating investment recommendations, valuation analysis, and sector insights to institutional investors
  • Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, macroeconomic trends, and competitive dynamics that impact transportation equities
  • Present research findings to clients through meetings, presentations, and interactive sessions
  • Collaborate with sales, trading, and client service teams to address investor questions and research requests
  • Stay current on quarterly earnings, company guidance, and management commentary across the transportation sector

Requirements

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling and valuation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to explain complex financial concepts clearly to sophisticated audiences
  • Deep familiarity with financial statements, accounting principles, and capital markets analysis
  • Strong command of Excel and proficiency with research and financial data tools
  • Knowledge of or demonstrable interest in the transportation and logistics industry, including major market participants and sector trends
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant investment experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment
