Cyber Security Analyst (Unix/Linux Configuration Monitoring required)

Bank of America is seeking a dedicated Cyber Security Analyst with Unix/Linux Configuration Monitoring expertise for our Glendale, Denver location. In this full-time role, you'll play a crucial part in protecting our enterprise infrastructure through proactive security monitoring, threat detection, and system hardening.

About the Role

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you'll be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and securing our Unix and Linux-based systems. This position requires a sharp focus on configuration management, vulnerability assessment, and compliance with our security standards. You'll work with cutting-edge security tools and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our infrastructure remains secure against evolving threats.

What You'll Do

• Monitor Unix and Linux systems for configuration drift, security misconfigurations, and unauthorized changes
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation strategies for Unix/Linux environments
• Analyze security logs and alerts to identify suspicious activity and potential breach indicators
• Perform security hardening on Unix and Linux servers in alignment with industry standards and Bank of America policies
• Document system configurations and maintain detailed security baselines
• Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams to implement security controls and patches
• Respond to security incidents involving Unix/Linux systems and conduct root-cause analysis
• Stay current with emerging threats and security best practices in the Unix/Linux ecosystem

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in Unix and Linux system administration and configuration monitoring
• Strong understanding of Linux security hardening, access controls, and file permissions
• Experience with security monitoring tools, log analysis, and intrusion detection systems
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to financial institutions
• Ability to interpret and respond to security alerts and events
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication abilities and attention to detail
• Must be at least 18 years of age
