The Municipality of Anchorage is hiring an Employment Specialist (Personnel Analyst II) for our Human Resources Department in Eagle River, Anchorage. This is a full-time, non-union position open to both external candidates and current Municipal employees.
The Opportunity
Join the HR team at the Municipality of Anchorage and contribute directly to municipal operations. In this role, you'll support critical human resources functions across our organization, based at City Hall in Eagle River. Working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, you'll manage essential HR operations that enable our city's government to serve residents effectively.
Responsibilities
- Support recruitment and hiring initiatives across Municipal departments
- Maintain employee records, documentation, and personnel files in compliance with Municipal standards
- Administer benefits programs and respond to employee inquiries
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires
- Assist with compensation analysis and payroll coordination
- Ensure HR processes align with the Municipality's Personnel Rules and policies
Skills & Qualifications
- Professional experience in human resources, recruitment, or personnel administration
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and standard office software
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
