About the Role

As an Economic Empowerment Advocate with YWCA Greater Lafayette, you'll do far more than discuss empowerment — you'll put it into practice. This part-time position lives where advocacy, employment support, and everyday stability meet, giving you a direct hand in helping people rebuild their lives. Based in Lafayette, Indiana, you'll partner one-on-one with survivors as they pursue economic self-sufficiency and a stronger path forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide survivors through individualized plans that build toward economic independence and long-term stability.
• Connect clients with employment opportunities, job-readiness resources, and community supports.
• Offer advocacy that addresses real-world barriers to financial security.
• Maintain compassionate, confidential relationships rooted in trust and respect.
• Collaborate with YWCA Greater Lafayette program staff to coordinate wraparound assistance.

Qualifications

• A genuine commitment to the mission of empowerment, equity, and supporting survivors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working directly with people facing difficult circumstances.
• Comfort connecting individuals to employment and economic-stability resources.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and care.
• Availability for a part-time, on-site role in Lafayette, Tippecanoe County (this position is not remote).
