About the Role

As an Early Intervention Developmental Specialist with Programs for Infants and Children, you'll provide direct developmental services to infants and toddlers enrolled in Alaska's early intervention system. This full-time position combines clinical assessment, therapeutic intervention, family coaching, and progress monitoring in a family-centered model. You'll work in homes, community settings, and our Anchorage offices, partnering with families to address developmental concerns and celebrate milestones during these critical early years.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct developmental screenings and comprehensive assessments of infants and toddlers to identify delays and strengths
  • Deliver individualized intervention services aligned with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
  • Coach and educate parents and caregivers on developmental strategies and techniques to use during daily routines
  • Monitor child progress, track outcomes, and adjust service approaches based on developmental response
  • Maintain thorough, accurate clinical documentation and participate in team meetings
  • Collaborate with other specialists, service coordinators, and community providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Travel between home visits, community locations, and office settings across the Anchorage area

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or related field
  • Certification or licensure as required by Alaska early intervention regulations for your discipline
  • Knowledge of infant and toddler development, disabilities, and evidence-based intervention practices
  • Strong communication and family engagement skills; ability to work effectively with diverse families
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home and community-based visits
  • Professional demeanor, dependability, and commitment to early intervention mission
  • Experience with early intervention, early childhood special education, or related pediatric services preferred
