This full-time, on-site experience is built to translate your military leadership into a rewarding civilian career in environmental services.
About the Role
As a participant in this Operations & Fleet Maintenance Leadership track, you will train alongside Republic Services teams during your final stretch of military service. SkillBridge allows eligible members to dedicate up to their last 180 days of active duty to hands-on learning with an approved industry partner, giving you a structured runway to prepare for life after the uniform while building practical skills in operations and fleet maintenance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn the day-to-day coordination of operations and fleet maintenance functions within a Republic Services facility.
- Apply your military leadership experience to supervising teams, schedules, and workflows.
- Develop familiarity with fleet upkeep, safety standards, and operational efficiency practices.
- Gain mentorship and direct exposure to civilian career pathways in the environmental services industry.
Qualifications
- Transitioning U.S. military service member eligible for the Department of War SkillBridge Program.
- Open to any rank — both enlisted and officer candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Within the eligible SkillBridge window (up to the last 180 days of service).
- Interest in operations, fleet maintenance, and team leadership roles.
- Able to participate on-site in Perkinsville, Watauga County, North Carolina (this role is not remote).
