Guidehouse is hiring a Director - State and Local Government for a full‑time position based in Lake Dallas, Denton County, Texas.
About the Role
In this leadership position you will partner with state and local government agencies across Texas to design and execute strategy‑driven consulting programs that improve service delivery and support mission objectives.
What You'll Do
- Lead multidisciplinary consulting teams delivering projects in areas such as public finance, infrastructure, digital transformation, and performance improvement.
- Develop and implement go‑to‑market strategies that expand Guidehouse’s footprint in the Texas state and local government sector.
- Cultivate senior‑level client relationships, act as a trusted advisor, and identify new opportunities for repeat business.
- Oversee proposal development, pricing, and staffing plans to win competitive pursuits while maintaining profitability targets.
- Mentor consultants and analysts, fostering professional growth and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.
- Monitor project health, manage risks, and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Stay current on policy trends, funding mechanisms, and emerging challenges facing Texas municipalities, counties, and state agencies.
- Represent Guidehouse at industry conferences, roundtables, and thought‑leadership forums.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience directing consulting engagements for state or local government clients, preferably within Texas.
- Strong background in strategy formulation, program management, and public sector policy.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business development and win new work in a competitive environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for engaging elected officials and agency leaders.
- Track record of building and mentoring high‑performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CFA) preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to client sites across the state.
- Ability to obtain any required client‑specific clearances (none required for this role).
