Irvine Company is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director, Safety to lead and elevate safety performance across our Division in Irvine, Orange County. This full-time, on-site leadership role is ideal for a safety professional who thrives on building proactive cultures that protect both people and property.

About the Role

As Director, Safety at Irvine Company, you will own the strategic design and day-to-day execution of safety programs throughout the Division. You'll set the vision, build the framework, and drive the operational discipline needed to keep associates safe and facilities sound. The position rests on two core pillars: Associate Safety, centered on prevention and training, and Property Safety, focused on facility integrity and life safety systems. Acting as the connective link between corporate safety leadership and field operations, you will translate high-level strategy into practical, measurable results on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a forward-looking safety strategy spanning the entire Division.
• Champion a proactive, accountability-driven safety culture among associates and leadership alike.
• Lead Associate Safety initiatives, including injury prevention programs and ongoing training.
• Oversee Property Safety, ensuring facility integrity and the reliability of life safety systems.
• Serve as the bridge between corporate safety standards and field-level execution.
• Monitor program performance and continuously refine practices to reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience designing and managing comprehensive safety programs.
• Strong command of both occupational/associate safety and property or life safety systems.
• Ability to convert corporate strategy into actionable operational plans across multiple sites.
• Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders at every level of the organization.
