About the Role

As Director of Government Affairs at Vistra, you will champion the company's interests before state elected officials in Washington, D.C., translating business priorities into effective political engagement. Reporting into and acting under the direction of the Senior Vice President, you will help design and carry out the strategies that strengthen Vistra's standing with lawmakers and key decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive advocacy and communications efforts directed at state elected officials.
• Carry out political and relationship-building strategy under the guidance of the Senior Vice President.
• Brief and educate lawmakers on issues, legislation, and initiatives important to Vistra.
• Cultivate and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with policymakers and their staff.
• Represent Vistra's positions clearly and persuasively across the legislative landscape.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative relations, or a closely related field.
• A strong grasp of how state-level political and legislative processes work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics for elected officials.
• Proven success in developing and managing relationships with lawmakers and stakeholders.
• Sound political judgment and the ability to execute strategy in a fast-moving environment.
