Association For Individual Development is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (CNA/DSP) to join our team in Montgomery, Kendall County. In this full-time role, you'll provide direct, person-centered support to individuals with developmental, intellectual, physical, and mental health challenges, empowering them to lead dignified, purposeful lives.
About the Role
As a Direct Support Professional with Association For Individual Development, you'll be the consistent, caring presence that helps individuals navigate daily life with confidence and independence. This is hands-on work that matters—you'll build real relationships while supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and participate fully in their communities.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily support with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene assistance
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining life skills that promote independence
- Assist with transportation, appointments, and community integration activities
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of support provided and individual progress
- Communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate comprehensive support
- Respond to individual needs with flexibility, patience, and respect for personal dignity
- Help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming living environment
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- CNA certification or current commitment to obtaining certification
- Ability to pass a background check and comply with regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine compassion for individuals facing physical, developmental, and mental health challenges
- Reliability, accountability, and a team-focused approach
