About the Role
This full-time position places you at the heart of our mission: delivering compassionate, person-centered care in clients' homes. As a Direct Care Worker (DCW) with Merry Care, you'll build meaningful relationships while helping individuals maintain control over their lives and participate fully in their communities.
What You'll Do
- Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting support
- Provide companionship and emotional encouragement throughout daily activities
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and community outings
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, dishes, and basic home maintenance
- Document client interactions and communicate updates to the care coordination team
- Adjust support methods based on each individual's needs, preferences, and changing abilities
What We're Looking For
- Genuine empathy and commitment to respecting client autonomy and dignity
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Clear communication and active listening skills
- Physical capability to safely assist with personal care and mobility needs
