Universal Technical Institute is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Cardiovascular Sonography Program Director to lead our academic program at our North Loma Linda campus in San Bernardino County. This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of sonography professionals while advancing the institution's mission in healthcare education.

About the Role

As Program Director, you will provide strategic academic oversight and operational management for our diagnostic medical and cardiovascular sonography programs. You'll set the direction for curriculum development, faculty performance, and student achievement while maintaining the highest standards of educational excellence and professional integrity.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and supervise faculty and academic staff, fostering a collaborative environment dedicated to student success
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with current industry standards and prepares students for clinical practice and certification
  • Ensure full compliance with accreditation commission standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies
  • Monitor and evaluate programmatic outcomes, including student performance, retention, graduation rates, and job placement success
  • Conduct regular program assessment and implement continuous improvements based on data and stakeholder feedback
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate sonography faculty to maintain instructional quality
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and scheduling to support effective operations
  • Serve as primary liaison between the program, accrediting bodies, and external healthcare partners
  • Contribute to strategic planning and institutional initiatives related to healthcare education

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree (or higher) in sonography, healthcare administration, education, or a related field
  • Current RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) and/or RCVS (Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer) certification
  • Minimum 5 years of professional sonography experience in a clinical setting
  • Proven leadership and management experience in an academic or educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of accreditation standards for sonography programs (CAAHEP, JRCERT, or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to student-centered education and professional development
