Join Little Rock School District as a Dean of Students at Stephens Elementary (6817) in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. As a full-time educational leader, you'll shape school culture, support student growth, and partner with teachers and families to create a positive, safe learning environment for elementary students.
About the Role
This is a 10.25-month, full-time leadership position on the teacher salary schedule. You'll serve as an instructional and behavioral leader, working directly with students, staff, and families to foster a welcoming, inclusive school community where every child can thrive academically and socially.
What You'll Do
- Establish and maintain positive school culture and climate through proactive student engagement and restorative practices
- Lead student discipline and behavioral management, working with teachers to address classroom and campus-wide concerns
- Monitor and improve student attendance, collaborating with families to reduce chronic absenteeism
- Support classroom teachers through professional development, coaching, and classroom management strategies
- Coordinate with special education and support services to meet all students' needs
- Facilitate parent and community engagement, building strong family-school partnerships
- Ensure school safety protocols and emergency procedures are in place and practiced
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives that strengthen instruction and student achievement
What We're Looking For
- Valid Arkansas Teaching License in any K–5 grade area
- Master's degree or higher
- Experience with student discipline, school climate, and classroom management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and meeting the needs of all learners
- Leadership experience in a school or educational setting preferred
