About the Role
As a PRN CVOR Registered Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care in the cardiac vascular operating room, supporting surgical teams during a variety of procedures while adhering to the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all instruments and equipment are ready for use.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout the procedure, responding promptly to any changes.
- Assist surgeons and the perioperative team with device placement, graft handling, and other technical tasks.
- Document nursing interventions, patient responses, and operative details accurately in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical technologists to optimize workflow and patient outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and hospital policies at all times.
- Participate in briefings and debriefings to support continuous quality improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the State of North Carolina.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working in a cardiovascular or thoracic operating room setting.
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and the specific demands of CVOR procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work a PRN schedule, including varied shifts, weekends, and on‑call coverage as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining professional competence through ongoing education and training.
