About the Role
As a Workers Compensation Claims Representative at Sedgwick, you'll be the key contact managing the full lifecycle of workers' compensation claims for Alaska's workers and employers. This is a remote position that offers flexibility while delivering meaningful support to people facing workplace injuries and recovery.
What You'll Do
- Investigate workers' compensation claims thoroughly, gathering statements, medical records, and employer documentation to determine eligibility and benefits
- Maintain detailed, accurate claim files and ensure all records comply with Alaska workers' compensation regulations
- Communicate regularly with injured workers, employers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to coordinate care and claims resolution
- Review medical reports and documentation to assess claim validity and authorize appropriate benefits
- Process claims, calculate benefits, and resolve discrepancies in accordance with state requirements
- Follow up on outstanding claims, identify issues, and drive timely resolution
- Answer questions and provide guidance to claimants and employers about the claims process
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- Current or ability to obtain Alaska workers' compensation licensing and certification
- Prior experience in claims processing, customer service, or related field strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple claims and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with medical terminology helpful; willingness to learn required
- Proficiency with computer systems and claims management software
