Certified Surg Tech – Travel Job

About the Role

This full-time travel assignment puts you at the heart of operating room operations in the Anchorage area. You'll work alongside surgeons and nursing teams in active surgical environments, delivering the clinical support and meticulous attention to detail that modern surgical procedures demand. The role offers the variety and professional growth that travel positions provide, while supporting multiple healthcare facilities in the region.

What You'll Do

• Prepare operating rooms according to sterile field protocols and specific surgical procedure requirements
• Sterilize, inspect, and organize surgical instruments and medical equipment prior to procedures
• Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout surgical cases to prevent infection and protect patient safety
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to surgeons and surgical nursing staff during operations
• Assist with patient positioning and draping to optimize surgical access
• Account for all surgical items including sponges, instruments, and needles before, during, and after cases
• Support the surgical team with responsiveness, anticipation, and technical proficiency
• Complete operating room breakdown and equipment sterilization following infection control standards

What We're Looking For

• Current surgical technologist certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Demonstrated experience working in operating room environments
• Solid understanding of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile technique procedures
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within a clinical team
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a high-demand environment
• Dedication to patient safety and infection prevention protocols
• Adaptability and reliability suitable for a travel assignment
