CDL-A Truck Driver

APL Cargo, Inc. is hiring experienced CDL-A Truck Drivers for full-time refrigerated transportation positions based in Buford, Rio Blanco County. About the Role

You'll operate a refrigerated semi-truck on over-the-road routes, hauling temperature-sensitive freight across the continental United States. This position offers meaningful work with predictable home time—returning home every two weeks to rest and spend time with family. As a CDL-A driver with APL Cargo, you'll earn between $78,000 and $109,200 annually, starting at 62 cents per mile, with structured opportunities to increase your pay as you progress with the company.

What You'll Do

• Operate a refrigerated tractor-trailer safely and professionally on multi-state routes
• Manage temperature-controlled cargo, ensuring cargo integrity throughout transit
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate logbooks and comply with all federal Hours of Service regulations
• Communicate regularly with dispatch and customers regarding load status and delivery times
• Secure loads properly and verify documentation before departure

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent OTR driving experience (reefer experience preferred)
• Passing DOT medical certification and background investigation
• Ability to operate refrigerated trailers and manage temperature-sensitive cargo
• Professional attitude and strong communication skills
• Willingness to spend 5–7 days per week on the road with predictable home time every two weeks

Pay & Growth

Compensation begins at 62 cents per mile. You'll be eligible for performance bonuses of up to 2 additional cents per mile after 90 days, another 2 cents per mile at your one-year anniversary, plus annual 1-cent increases. Independent contractors operating as 1099 drivers earn 70 cents per mile.
