About the Role
As a Cash Management Specialist at WVU Medicine, you'll play a vital role in our revenue cycle operations by managing the posting and reconciliation of patient and insurance payments. Working within our Epic billing system, you'll post incoming payments to patient accounts, reconcile postings with bank deposits, and maintain accurate financial records to support our healthcare delivery mission.
What You'll Do
- Post insurance and patient payments to Epic with accuracy and in a timely manner
- Reconcile payment postings to bank deposits to ensure all revenue is properly credited
- Review and process payment transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with billing, accounting, and collections teams regarding payment status and account balances
- Maintain organized records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
- Follow established procedures and internal controls to safeguard patient financial information
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial transactions
- Experience with healthcare billing systems, preferably Epic
- Ability to manage multiple payment postings and reconciliations efficiently
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations preferred
