Campus Security Officer

About the Role

You'll serve as a key security presence on our Folsom campus, responsible for monitoring district facilities and grounds to safeguard our entire school community. This role requires vigilance, sound judgment, and the ability to de-escalate situations while maintaining a welcoming environment for authorized visitors and students.

What You'll Do

• Oversee student conduct and activity throughout campus buildings and outdoor areas at designated posts
• Validate student identification passes, including hall passes and parking lot credentials
• Screen visitors entering the campus and verify the legitimate purpose of their visit
• Conduct regular patrols across campus grounds to identify and address potential safety hazards
• Document and report security incidents, visitor logs, and daily activities in writing
• Coordinate with school administration on emerging safety concerns and protocol updates
• Support emergency response procedures and assist during crisis situations
• Maintain professional, respectful interactions with students, families, and staff

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to remain composed under pressure and in challenging interpersonal situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and professional judgment
• Physical capability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods throughout the day
• Basic understanding of security best practices and school safety protocols
• Genuine commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive school community for all students
