PacifiCorp is hiring a Senior Meter and Relay Technician (Bid 034, Req 114311) to join its operations team in Walla Walla, Washington. This is a full-time, on-site, IBEW Local 125 represented position offering the chance to lead skilled technical work that keeps the electric system reliable and safe.
About the Role
As a Senior Meter and Relay Technician with PacifiCorp in Walla Walla, you will serve as a supervising journeyman-level employee reporting to an Operations Manager. The role combines hands-on metering and protective relay expertise with day-to-day leadership of crew activities, making it ideal for an experienced technician ready to guide others while continuing to perform advanced field and shop work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site supervision and technical direction to meter and relay personnel under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
- Install, test, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot revenue meters and protective relay systems.
- Apply journeyman-level knowledge to diagnose equipment issues and verify accurate, safe operation of metering and protection equipment.
- Promote safe work practices, accurate documentation, and compliance with company standards and applicable codes.
- Coordinate work assignments and support the development of less-experienced team members.
Qualifications
- Qualification as a Journeyman Meter and Relay Technician.
- Demonstrated experience with metering systems and protective relaying in an electric utility environment.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work the assigned Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Walla Walla.
