What This Role Involves

As an Auto Care Center Technician at Walmart, you'll perform a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair services in a fast-paced, professional environment. You'll work with customers to understand their vehicle needs, diagnose issues, and complete repairs efficiently and correctly. This is hands-on technical work where your attention to detail and mechanical knowledge directly impact customer satisfaction and safety.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes, tire services (rotation, balancing, repair), and brake work
• Replace batteries, filters, wiper blades, and other wear items
• Complete preventive maintenance services and inspections
• Diagnose vehicle problems using diagnostic equipment and tools
• Explain service recommendations to customers in clear, non-technical language
• Maintain work areas, organize tools, and follow all safety protocols
• Document completed services accurately and maintain service records
• Build customer relationships and provide excellent service

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Prior automotive service experience or technical training (preferred but not required)
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures

Working at Walmart

Walmart offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $18 to $31 per hour, with the actual rate meeting or exceeding minimum wage requirements for your location. You'll also receive annual and quarterly performance incentives, with additional premiums available in certain circumstances ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, and other factors.
