About the Role

This position works closely with category managers and sourcing teams to help drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure compliance with procurement policies across Northern Trust’s business services spend.

What You'll Do

• Assist in gathering and analyzing spend data to identify category‑specific opportunities.
• Support the development and execution of category strategies, including supplier segmentation and risk assessments.
• Help maintain accurate supplier master data and contract repositories.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and facilitate sourcing events.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations that track key metrics such as savings, contract utilization, and supplier diversity.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects aimed at process improvement and technology enablement.
• Ensure adherence to corporate procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, spend analysis, or a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP) and familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets accurately.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with stakeholders at various levels.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic understanding of sourcing methodologies and contract lifecycle management.
