Build To Prosper is hiring a Part Time SLS Instructor in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County to join our team and support individuals in achieving greater independence and personal growth.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated SLS Instructor to become part of Build To Prosper's Supported Living Services team. This is a meaningful part-time position where you'll work directly with individuals across Los Angeles County, helping them build confidence and develop practical life skills. If you're passionate about community support work and inspired by helping others reach their potential, we'd like to hear from you.
Core Duties
- Teach and reinforce life skills in areas such as personal care, household management, social interaction, and community engagement
- Develop individualized instruction plans tailored to each participant's goals and abilities
- Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to encourage independence and self-advocacy
- Document progress, track outcomes, and communicate updates with supervisors and care teams
- Support participants in navigating community resources and social opportunities
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment during all interactions
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background clearance and live-scan fingerprinting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine compassion for supporting people with diverse needs
- Ability to work flexible hours and multiple shifts
- Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in dynamic environments
- Prior experience in education, caregiving, or community support is a plus
