Senior Product Industrialization Engineer – Hydraulic Hose

Continental seeks a Senior Product Industrialization Engineer to lead the transition of hydraulic hose products from design into efficient, scalable manufacturing operations at our Fairlawn, OH facility. This is a full-time remote position within our Manufacturing division, offering the opportunity to shape how innovative fluid transfer solutions reach the market.

Position Summary

As Senior Product Industrialization Engineer – Hydraulic Hose, you'll be responsible for bridging the gap between product engineering and full-scale production. Working remotely with our Fairlawn-based manufacturing team, you'll drive the industrialization strategy for hydraulic hose products, ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality before launch. This role requires deep technical expertise in hydraulic systems, manufacturing processes, and problem-solving at scale.

Core Duties

• Lead product industrialization from prototype through production ramp, collaborating with design and operations teams to identify manufacturability challenges early
• Develop and refine manufacturing processes, tooling requirements, and production workflows specific to hydraulic hose assembly and testing
• Conduct design-for-manufacturing reviews, recommending material selections, component specifications, and assembly sequences that balance performance and cost
• Establish quality standards, test protocols, and compliance procedures aligned with industry regulations and Continental specifications
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times in existing production lines
• Partner with supply chain and procurement to evaluate component sources and supplier capabilities for new product lines
• Document process specifications, work instructions, and technical requirements for manufacturing teams

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in product industrialization, manufacturing engineering, or process development within automotive, hydraulics, or fluid systems industries
• Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic hose design, assembly methods, pressure testing, and leak detection standards
• Proficiency with CAD software, process simulation tools, and manufacturing planning systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities to work effectively with remote and on-site teams
