Eureka College seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to join the Social Science and Business Division and contribute to the Sociology program in Eureka, Humboldt County. What You'll Do
- Teach courses in criminal justice, criminology, and related topics at the undergraduate level
- Design and refine curriculum that reflects current scholarship and best practices in the field
- Pursue independent and collaborative research or creative work aligned with your scholarly interests
- Advise and mentor students in academic planning, research projects, and professional development
- Contribute to department committees and broader institutional initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues across social sciences and other disciplines
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated expertise and/or teaching experience in one or more areas: legal systems, corrections, law enforcement, or adjacent topics in criminal justice
- Strong commitment to excellent teaching and student learning outcomes
- Record of scholarly engagement or clear potential for research and professional contribution
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage meaningfully with a liberal arts mission
