About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and safety-focused Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Mount Isa Mines. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth within the laboratory environment. The role involves various technical tasks related to metallurgical operations.

• Assist in conducting tests, experiments, and analyses as per standard operating procedures
• Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities and results
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
• Support the preparation of samples for testing and analysis
• Participate in routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment and facilities

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

The daily tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Assisting with sample collection, preparation, and testing
• Maintaining accurate documentation of all laboratory activities
• Conducting routine quality control checks on equipment and samples
• Supporting the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments
• Participating in team meetings and training sessions as required
