Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology

St Thomas University is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology to join its faculty in Opa Locka, Miami-Dade County. About the Role

As a member of our psychology faculty, you will play a central role in developing and delivering our undergraduate and graduate psychology curriculum. You will mentor students, conduct original research, and contribute to the intellectual life of our institution through committee service and academic leadership. This position offers the flexibility to specialize in your area of psychological expertise while supporting the university's commitment to student success and evidence-based practice.

What You'll Do

• Design and teach psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with course load adjusted to accommodate research and service obligations
• Mentor students in research, clinical practice, or applied psychology projects aligned with your specialization
• Conduct and publish original research or creative scholarly work in your field of psychology
• Serve on departmental committees, curriculum review boards, and university task forces as needed
• Engage in professional development and maintain active membership in psychology associations
• Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the psychology program and institutional initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., or equivalent) in psychology or a related discipline
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college or university level
• Active research agenda or scholarly engagement with published work or creative accomplishments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
• Commitment to student-centered education and mentorship
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute positively to departmental culture
