American Jewish Committee seeks an Associate Director for our Los Angeles office. In this full-time position, you'll drive advocacy, community engagement, and organizational strategy within one of the world's leading Jewish advocacy organizations, working across our six-continent network to advance the safety and prosperity of Jewish communities globally.
About the Role
As Associate Director in Los Angeles, you'll lead and coordinate key initiative areas, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee programs that advance our mission. You'll collaborate across our Los Angeles County offices and partner with our 40+ international locations to execute strategy, amplify our advocacy voice in Southern California, and strengthen connections with local Jewish and civic leaders.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute community engagement and advocacy initiatives in Los Angeles and surrounding regions
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizational partners, and governmental officials
- Coordinate program delivery, special events, and educational initiatives aligned with organizational priorities
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational development at the regional level
- Support fundraising, communications, and partnership efforts to advance organizational mission
- Manage budgets, timelines, and team coordination to ensure program success
What We're Looking For
- Experience in nonprofit leadership, advocacy, community organizing, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage diverse stakeholders
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Understanding of Jewish community concerns or commitment to civil rights advocacy
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
