About the Role

As an Affordable Housing Leasing Consultant with our Bayou La Batre team, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through applications, eligibility requirements, and move-in procedures. Your working knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Section 42 programs will be crucial in helping eligible households navigate compliance frameworks and secure stable housing solutions.

What You'll Do

• Conduct apartment leasing consultations and property tours with prospective residents
• Explain affordable housing program eligibility, LIHTC compliance requirements, and other program guidelines
• Review and process rental applications while verifying tenant qualifications
• Maintain comprehensive leasing documentation and records
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the application and move-in experience
• Support new resident orientation and address ongoing inquiries
• Partner with property management and compliance teams on program adherence

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in apartment leasing or residential leasing environments
• Working knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC/Section 42) programs or comparable affordable housing initiatives
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Organized approach to managing applications and documentation
• Professional attitude and commitment to fair housing practices
• Property management software experience preferred
