Building & Grounds Technician – Affordable Residential Housing

About the Role

You'll be the backbone of property upkeep across our affordable housing portfolio in Chittenden County. Your hands-on work—from seasonal grounds care to interior cleaning to small repairs—directly impacts residents' quality of life and helps properties retain their value and appeal. You'll work independently, manage multiple properties or tasks, and report back to our property management team on completion and any issues requiring specialized attention.

What You'll Do

• Clean and maintain residential and commercial rental units, both interior and exterior
• Manage landscaping, grounds upkeep, and seasonal outdoor work
• Perform minor maintenance and light repairs to keep units safe and functional
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders on schedule
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies
• Document completed work and communicate any major issues to property managers

What We're Looking For

• Valid, active state-issued driver's license (required)
• Access to reliable personal transportation—company vehicles are limited in availability
• Ability to work independently while meeting property care standards
• Physical stamina for outdoor work, lifting, and standing for extended periods
• Attention to detail and commitment to thorough, quality work
