Accounting Specialist

Join Astemo's finance team as an Accounting Specialist and take ownership of critical financial operations that drive business success. In this role, you'll work directly with our accounting leadership to maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close procedures, and ensure all transactions are properly documented and reconciled. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone seeking to build technical accounting skills while contributing to a stable, growing organization.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations and sub-ledger reviews
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and review financial documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
• Enter and verify financial data into accounting systems and maintain detailed records
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities and financial report preparation
• Monitor expense reports and coding to ensure proper allocation across cost centers
• Communicate with internal teams and external vendors on accounting inquiries and discrepancies

Who We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; accounting coursework or certification (such as AP, AAP, or associate-level study) is valued
• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency with accounting software and general spreadsheet applications
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with large data sets
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation techniques
• Reliable, organized approach to meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities
• Clear communication skills and willingness to collaborate across departments
