Position Summary

The 2SLGBTQ+ Support Worker, I Belong Program (Until March 31, 2028) - Full Time - Vancouver position at Mosaicbc centres on creating safe, affirming spaces and responsive services for individuals exploring or living within diverse gender identities and sexual orientations. Based in Vancouver, BC, the worker supports the I Belong Program by offering guidance that helps participants navigate personal challenges, access local networks, and strengthen their sense of community belonging. The full-time commitment runs through the program end date of March 31, 2028 and requires consistent on-site presence to foster trust and continuous engagement. Success depends on a person-centred approach that respects lived experience and promotes equity for 2SLGBTQ+ community members across the lower mainland.

What You'll Do

• Provide one-to-one support and practical guidance to 2SLGBTQ+ participants enrolled in the I Belong Program
• Plan and lead small-group sessions or workshops that encourage peer connection and skill-building in Vancouver, BC
• Help individuals identify and connect with appropriate local resources, services, and community groups
• Advocate alongside participants on issues affecting 2SLGBTQ+ wellbeing while upholding strict confidentiality
• Document interactions accurately and contribute routine updates that support program continuity until March 31, 2028
• Collaborate with team members to maintain inclusive practices and a welcoming environment at Mosaicbc
• Respond flexibly to emerging participant needs within the scope of a full-time 2SLGBTQ+ Support Worker role

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in a support-worker capacity, ideally serving 2SLGBTQ+ communities or related equity-focused settings
• Solid understanding of the social and systemic challenges commonly faced by 2SLGBTQ+ people
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication abilities suited to diverse Vancouver, BC populations
• Demonstrated capacity to work full time in a structured community program lasting until March 31, 2028
• Education or formal training in social services, counselling support, community development, or an equivalent field
• Commitment to confidentiality, cultural humility, and inclusive practice within the I Belong Program
• Ability to manage caseloads and group facilitation while working collaboratively at Mosaicbc
