About the Role
Newhalen School is seeking dedicated and passionate elementary educators to join our teaching team. As an Elementary Teacher, you will be instrumental in creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences that inspire intellectual curiosity and personal development. This position is available starting August 20, 2026.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver comprehensive, standards-aligned curriculum across core academic subjects for elementary grade levels
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and fosters student engagement
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to guide learning
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success and well-being
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies that promote critical thinking and academic growth
- Maintain detailed records and communicate regularly with parents about student performance and classroom activities
- Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives and planning
What We're Looking For
- Valid state elementary teaching license or certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelor's degree in Education, a related field, or completion of an accredited teacher preparation program
- Strong command of elementary subject matter and proficiency in instructional best practices
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations and differentiate instruction
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration with school communities
